Ben Walter (he/him) is residing in Durfee A11. Ben is a Diversity Support Specialist at the Office of Diversity & Inclusion, where he supports Yale’s nine staff affinity groups. He is an active member and former co-chair of the Yale LGBTQ Affinity Group. He graduated from Clark University in 2015 with a degree in Sociology and a minor in Women’s and Gender Studies. He received the sociology department’s Addams-Mills Award for his honors thesis on queer identity. He began his career at the Yale School of the Environment, where he worked in the business office and as a program coordinator at the Yale Forest Forum and the Environmental Leadership & Training Initiative. In his free time, he enjoys photography, running, building commander decks for Magic: the Gathering, and deep conversations with his cat, Barbar.
