Morse College Aides Fall 2022

What is a College Aide?

The Morse College Aides man the front lines of the College by working in the front office and staffing college events. They sort your mail, check out equipment such as Wiimotes and a karaoke machine, and help you back into your room in case you’re locked out. The aides also work behind the scenes during almost all Morse events: College Teas, Mellon Dinners, study breaks, and more. Contact our aides at morsecollege.officeaides@yale.edu

Morse College Aides 2022-2023

Christian Davis ‘23

(Co-Chief Aide)

Christian Davis is a senior from Newberry, South Carolina. He’s an EP&E major, a critically-unacclaimed musician, and the biggest fan of Morse pickleball this world has ever seen. On campus enjoys working both in the Morse Head of College Office and the Irving S. Gilmore Music Library (he spends most of the money he makes on candy). He runs, hikes, plays tennis, watches movies, plays cards, and tries his best to survive chess games for more than four moves. He thinks that every residential college is the best residential college as long as it’s Morse, and he will stop at nothing to project his inner walrus to the world. He’s always excited to meet new people, so say hello if you see him around!

Abby Davis ‘24

(Co-Chief Aide)

Abby Davis is a junior from Newberry, South Carolina majoring in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology. After undergraduate studies, she plans on attending medical school and eventually becoming an OB-GYN. She loves traveling, voluteering, and trying new things; the latest hobbies added to her list are scuba diving and surfing. In her free time you can find her hanging out with friends, looking at bugs, or on a roof or other elevated surface somewhere.

Ikem Emekekwue ‘23

(Office and Events Aide)

Ikem Emekekwue is a senior and math major from New York (Long Island, not the city). Ikems are chronic procrastinators and can be found watching any newly released Netflix shows (no matter how bad) to avoid starting his psets. Keep an eye out for bright red shoes, which serve as one of their distinguishing features. While commonly thought of as a docile and aloof species, they’ve been known to occasionally show signs of genuine mirth in the right conditions (at Wendy’s for example). If you plan to raise your own, beware. They will steal your silverware, draw on your walls, and dismember your stuffed animals in an attempt to play surgeon.

Thuy An Nguyen ‘24

(Office and Events Aide)

Nita Qiu ‘24

(Office and Events Aide)

Nita is a junior(currently) majoring in Computer Science and Psychology. She’s originally from Woodbury, Minnesota and firmly believes that the correct word for soft drinks is “pop”. When she’s not practicing piano or studying, she’s reliving the 2000’s in her airpods and coasting around on her ripstick. Nita also loves to stay active whether it’s on a cute jog with friends or ripping a frisbee with her suitemates. Be sure to say hi if you ever run into her at the best dining hall on campus (most likely in the pizza line)!

Melissa Tamarkin ‘24

(Office and Events Aide)

Melissa is from San Diego, California and is an Ecology & Evolutionary Biology Major. As you could probably guess, she is really into plants and mushrooms. When she’s not in class learning about fish or rocks or something, you can find her watching trashy Kpop YouTube videos, playing Minecraft, and tending to the literal jungle in her suite. She also participates in the Yale Undergraduate Prison Project. Melissa is a die hard Morsel who has dyed her hair Morse red. She’ll also yell at you if you come into the office without a mask.

Yvonne Trenh ‘24

(Office and Events Aide)

Hellouu! My name is Yvonne! I’m a junior from Los Angeles, California! I’m thinking of double majoring in Environmental Studies and Sociology (both with a concentration in Public Health) and possibly going pre-med! At Yale, I’m involved with MCC, CASA, and Matriculate! Catch me around various study spaces working ~very~ hard with my friends!

Kalisa Vasquez-Minas ‘25

(Office and Events Aide)

Kalisa is a sophomore from Los Angeles, California and a prospective EPS major on the Solid Earth Science track. Having lived there their whole life, Kalisa is excited to experience the northeastern seasons and take trips to big cities on this side of the country. When they’re not studying or talking to their mom in Spanglish, you could find them watching Attack on Titan, rereading Percy Jackson, or tweeting about how tired they are.

Elizabeth Schaefer ‘26

(Office Floater and Events Aide)

Cecilia Russell ‘25

(Office Floater and Events Aide)

Cecilia is a sophomore from Washington, DC planning to major in mechanical engineering. Her favorite season of the year is summer and the idea of a New England winter is completely terrifying to her. In her spare time, she enjoys jogging, drinking tea, and complaining loudly to anyone within earshot about her psets. Her uniform consists of a huge yellow puffer coat and anything with floral prints, so she is incredibly easy to recognize. Say hi!

Sofia Rabbani ‘25

(Events Aide)

Sofia Rabbani is a sophomore from Birmingham, Alabama. When asked, she says she is a prospective Mechanical Engineering major, but is mostly undecided. She has a little walrus figurine named Alistair Hugo in her dorm to signify her college loyalty. In addition to being a Morse aide, she also displays her love for the best residential college by being a part of MCC. In order to convince herself and others she’s secure about her choice of major, she spends a lot of her time on campus in the CEID (that engineering lab with windows for walls). She can also sometimes be found in the Admissions Office, where she works as a Recruitment Coordinator. In her free time, she loves reading fantasy books, talking about the MCU and Game of Thrones, and listening to Taylor Swift.
